SMD resistor code calculator
Read the code on an SMD resistor, like 103, 4R7, 1002 or 01C, or see which code a value is printed as.
From a code to a value
10 kΩ
10 followed by 3 zeros: 10 kΩ. A 3 digit code is usually on a 5% resistor.

How to read it
In a 3 digit code the first two digits are the value and the third is how many zeros follow: 103 = 10 and three zeros = 10,000 Ω = 10 kΩ. 4 digit codes are for 1% resistors: the first three digits are the value and the fourth the zeros: 4701 = 4.7 kΩ. An R stands where the decimal point is: 4R7 = 4.7 Ω, R22 = 0.22 Ω. A resistor marked 0 or 000 is 0 Ω: a bridge joining two points on the board. In an EIA-96 code the two digits are a number in the table of 1% values and the letter the multiplier: 01C = 100 × 100 = 10 kΩ.
EIA-96 multipliers
| Letter | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| Z | × 0.001 |
| Y, R | × 0.01 |
| X, S | × 0.1 |
| A | × 1 |
| B, H | × 10 |
| C | × 100 |
| D | × 1000 |
| E | × 10,000 |
| F | × 100,000 |
